Catherine Augustine (Ph.D., Education, The University of Michigan) is the director of the RAND Pittsburgh Office and a senior policy researcher at RAND. As the director, she manages an office of 250 staff and represents RAND in the community through outreach and public speaking. Her research is supported by grants from national foundations and the federal government. Dr. Augustine focuses on improving educational outcomes for students in urban school districts. She is currently leading two randomized controlled trials, one of which focuses on implementing restorative practices in 22 schools in one urban district.
